Don't Throw Out That Plastic Bag

I feel like such an awful person when I ask for plastic bags at the grocery store. But I get so much use out of them.
Mainly I use them for picking up my fuzzy kids' poop. Other uses:
Wastebasket liner
Deep conditioning treatment for my hair
put a generous amount of conditioner on your hair, put the plastic bag over your head, sit under a dryer or go out in the sun and pull weeds or hang out your clothes.
Lunch container
Picking up small dead animals from my yard before my fuzzy kids get to them (i.e. birds)
Shake and bake meals (I know, it seems a little gross after mentioning scooping poop and dead animals)
See my vegan blog at http://latrenda-vegan.blogspot.com/ for a potato recipe

You haven't completed that circle of success unless you can help somebody else move forward

The title is a quote from Oprah Winfrey when she gave the commencement addresss at Duke University.

More of her quote: ".... And it is really fantastic to have your own jet, and anybody who says it isn’t is lying to you. That jet thing is really good.
But you really haven’t completed the circle of success unless you can help somebody else move forward. That’s the truth. Move to higher ground. That’s the real goal..." See the entire addresss at http://news.duke.edu/2009/05/winfrey_address.html

I agree with Oprah's view. All of that success means nothing if you don't help someone in need. See more in my next post on giving.

Cleaners

In Texas, food items are tax free. So instead of buying a chemical cleaner, use White Vinegar and baking soda. These are food items so they are tax free. There are other advantages.
These items are cheaper than other cleaners
These items are better for the environment that other cleaners
Vinegar and Baking Soda are probably safer for your pets
And they work well.
